On February 7, Dj Moyles may have mistakenly leaked after playing Foo Fighter’s 2011 track “Walk” from Wasting Light that the band has a new album coming out in March 2023. He said: “I love that song so much, Foo Fighters, and ‘Walk.’ They’ve got a new album coming out in, er, March, Foo Fighters… which I’m very much looking forward to”.
However, he did not elaborate on the comment and moved on. This statement raises several questions, such as whether it is accurate and if the material was recorded prior to the death of Taylor Hawkins in March 2022.
It would seem unlikely that Foo Fighters would have written and recorded new music so soon after Hawkins’ death, but it cannot be ruled out. The band is set to perform at the Boston Calling Music Festival on May 26, 2023, and has several other festival appearances scheduled for the rest of the year. However, no information has been released about a new drummer for the band.
