“The End, So Far,” was released on Sept. 30. This new record gives Slipknot a bit of a new sound. While You can still hear the old slipknot, you can feel them experimenting and playing around with their sound. This is mostly noticeable in their track ”Adderall’ which I am sure was a shocker for everyone, at least it was for me, especially used as an opening track. In the second song “The Dying Song (Time To Sing)” we are back to the old Slipknot with the usual angry and critical lyrics, Taylor stated “that song is really about the death of empathy and humanity, because of how technology has pulled us out of social circles and social niceties, social anything. It’s the musical equivalent of bashing your head against a fucking wall”
